Is Angel Gomes Another Paul Pogba?

Angel Gomes's contract with Manchester United expires on the 1st of July 2020 and he hasn't been able to agree a new deal with the club. Gomes who started training with the club at age six signed his first professional contract with Manchester on 13 December 2017. A lot of Manchester United fans had thought this would be Gomes's breakthrough season, but he has found it hard to break into the team due to the number of options in their midfield position.
Gomes has played 6 times for the Manchester United Senior team this season; twice in the Premier League, thrice in the Europa League and once in the EFL Cup. He has found opportunities hard to come by and also the January acquisition of Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes has made him drop further down the pecking order.
Manchester United's manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his last press conference when asked about the future of Gomes said: "I've not heard from him last night or this morning so it seems like they haven't managed to agree anything.
"The answer is probably short - yes."

That brings us to the example of Paul Pogba. Manchester United know all about having a potential gem slip from their hands. In Pogba's case Sir Alex Ferguson couldn't give Pogba assurances of first team football and Pogba left on a free transfer and signed with Juventus. Sir Alex would later come out to condemn Pogba's agent Mino Riola for the role he played in Pogba'us exit.
According to reports United have offered Gomes a contract worth £30,000-a-week, but it appears Gomes is looking at leaving the club. Gomes appears to have interest from clubs in Spain and Germany. In England, it seems Chelsea have offered him a contract.
Manchester United will not necessarily miss Gomes as even though he's no doubt a very technical and skillful player, his slight frame makes it difficult for him in the Robust and physical premier league.
With Manchester United being linked with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Donny van de beek and Jack Grealish, Angel Gomes might feel this is the right time to cut ties with the club he joined at a very young age.

Which ever way Gomes's career develops, Manchester United will hope that he doesn't become another Paul Pogba.
